It’s a classic set-up. The veteran and the newbie, two people who never agree but eventually become friends. But a few things about Hacks makes a basic premise one of the most engaging shows I have ever watched.

After a too-long hiatus, I’m really excited to return with recommending Michaela Coel’s new show, I May Destroy You. You may remember her from when I wrote about Chewing Gum. I May Destroy You is a drastically different show, but perhaps even more brilliant.
This is the kind of show that makes me want to write poetry.

If I had to describe Unorthodox in one word, it would be compelling. I started it late one night intending to watch just one episode and get a taste. Four hours later, I couldn’t even get myself to stop the 20 minute documentary about the “making of” from autoplaying. Days later, I found myself still thinking about Esty’s story and wishing for more.
